A Dean Winter Labor Government will reopen GP services through a free, bulk billed TassieDoc clinic in Risdon Vale.
Under the Liberals, the Risdon Vale community was left without a local doctor – its only GP service shut down, and a year later, the Liberals have failed to deliver a solution.
This clinic is part of Labor’s plan to open new, fully bulk-billed GP clinics across the state. It will operate with extended hours – including evenings and weekends – and offer both face-to-face and telehealth appointments. All Tasmanians will need is their Medicare card.
While the Albanese Labor Government’s Urgent Care Clinics have taken pressure off emergency departments, TassieDoc is about giving Tasmanians access to regular, free, everyday care.
While the Albanese Labor Government’s Urgent Care Clinics have taken pressure off emergency departments, TassieDoc is about giving Tasmanians access to regular, free, everyday care.
TassieDoc will be delivered by a State Labor Government and backed by Federal Labor’s investment in Medicare – showing what’s possible when both levels of government work together for one goal: better health outcomes for Tasmanians.
A Tasmanian family could save around $650 a year on GP visits – meaning TassieDoc will deliver real cost of living relief as well as easier access to healthcare.
Labor is also investing in the healthcare workforce to make this plan work – with scholarships for midwives and recruitment incentives to attract and retain doctors right across Tasmania.
After 11 years of the Liberals, Tasmanians shouldn’t have to wait any longer to see a doctor for free. It’s time for a fresh start and Labor is ready to deliver it.
It’s time for a fresh start under Labor.
