Another massive Spirits bailout inevitable as Abetz dodges questions

Another massive Spirits bailout inevitable as Abetz dodges questions

It’s obvious Eric Abetz is trying to hide something big as he continues to cover up the financial fall-out from the most shocking example of Liberal waste on record.

Despite his laughable claims of transparency, the Treasurer tried every trick in the book to avoid answering a simple question about whether or not TT-Line has requested any further equity injections or other forms of financial assistance.

A week before the last budget we saw a $75 million bailout announced for TT-Line, $25 million less than the $100 million assistance package the GBE had requested.

Following more than a half a billion dollars’ worth of wasted money, it’s inevitable another taxpayer funded bailout is on the cards later this month – Tasmanians just don’t know how many hundreds of millions it will be.

After 13 years of Liberal waste Premier Rockliff has put Eric Abetz in charge of cutting jobs and essential services to pay for it.

There is no greater example of the waste Tasmanians are now paying the price for than the Spirits fiasco, and the impacts will be felt for generations to come.
