Liberals offloading public asset after promising “no privatisation”
Jeremy Rockliff’s chronic lying has been exposed again.
Less than 12 months after the Premier promised Tasmanians there would be “no privatisation” under his government - “none” - the Liberals are now trying to offload the Hastings Thermal Springs precinct to a private operator.
Hastings is a public asset, managed by Parks and Wildlife, visited by nearly 60,000 people a year and loved by locals and tourists.
The Government initially promised $3 million to re-develop the site during the 2021 election, but they’ve broken that promise and cut the funding.
This is what happens after 13 years of Liberal waste and mismanagement - they cut health, cut jobs, break promises and offload public assets to pay for their mess.
Premier Rockliff said there would be no privatisation. He lied.
And while his government is offloading public assets, he still refuses to answer basic questions about his government’s taxpayer-funded legal fees scandal and the cover-up of Madeleine Ogilvie misleading Parliament.
Tasmanians deserve a Premier who tells the truth.
