The Liberals continue to live in fantasy land when it comes to managing Tasmania’s finances.
In response to the TCCI’s request for details on election costings to date, Jeremy Rockliff has claimed that the Liberals have only committed to $6 million of operational spending beyond what was in their failed budget.
This claim is a complete work of fiction – matching Labor’s TassieDoc commitment alone amounts to $18 million in operational spending.
The response given to the TCCI also demonstrates that Jeremy Rockliff has no remorse for the massive budget mess of his making.
Even if you take the Premier’s claims at face value, the budget position will be more than $55 million worse off if the Liberals are re-elected.
Labor has identified over a billion dollars’ worth of savings, and we have committed to spending far less than that. In fact, taking into account the expenditure and savings submitted to the TCCI, the budget position would be improved by over $800 million under a Dean Winter Labor Government.
After 11 years of the Liberals, Tasmania’s finances needs a Fresh Start, and the only way to make that happen is to vote Labor.
