Rockliff defends Jane Howlett’s secret legal fees

Rockliff defends Jane Howlett’s secret legal fees

Premier Jeremy Rockliff has outrageously stated that Minister Jane Howlett’s responses to questions about her secret legal fees have been “adequate”.

The Minister has refused to answer a single question about the matter.

If the Premier, or anyone else in the Parliament thinks it’s appropriate that a Minister has racked up $300,000 worth of taxpayer funded legal fees for a secret case while refusing to answer questions about it, they’re living on another planet.

Given what we now know about Madeliene Ogilvie, if Minister Howlett doesn’t come clean about the legal fees, her position in Cabinet is untenable and she must step aside while the investigation runs its course.

Premier Rockliff accepted Madeliene Ogilvie’s resignation because she couldn’t answer questions about her own fees. Why is he setting double standards and choosing to protect Minister Howlett?
