Rockliff’s modular homes announcement exposed as a decoy

Rockliff’s modular homes announcement exposed as a decoy

Housing Minister Kerry Vincent’s extraordinary admission that he wasn’t consulted on the Liberals’ modular homes announcement shows it was little more than a decoy to distract from Jeremy Rockliff’s terrible week.

Minister Vincent told the Estimates committee that he was advised maybe 48 hours before the announcement, and he wasn’t provided any detail on it for today’s hearing.

This is the same Minister who was forced to front the Premier’s Building Tasmania announcement for months without being given any understanding how the new body would be different to the last.

The Premier spent all week treating Tasmanians with contempt by refusing to answer questions about Madeleine Ogilivie spending $120,000 on legal fees and misleading Parliament.

Now, he’s treating his own Ministers with contempt too.
