TassieDoc 2U: Mobile Outreach Clinics to Expand Across Tasmania

17 July 2025

A Dean Winter Government will ensure Tasmanians living right across the state can access primary healthcare for free, close to home by expanding outreach mobile clinics across the state with TassieDoc 2U.

Currently, Moreton Group provides a mobile primary health outreach clinic service in southern Tasmania during the day, funded by the State Government. They have recently been backed by our Federal Labor colleagues with ongoing funding to provide their evening outreach clinics in the south, north and north west of our state through Primary Health Tasmania.
Labor will expand these services to provide the same level of free, comprehensive care delivered by nurse-practitioners and doctors in the north and north-west as in the south.
In addition to outreach care, the service will act as a referral pathway to Labor’s 10 free TassieDoc GP clinics across the state, working alongside the TassieDoc 24/7 after-hours telehealth service to create a comprehensive TassieDoc healthcare network.

Labor’s plan will include:

  • An investment of $150,000 to purchase and fit-out a new mobile clinic vehicle.
  • $275,000 per year to operate the new northern service.
  • A commitment to a five-year funding contract for both their northern and southern services to support staff recruitment and retention.

This expansion of TassieDoc 2U builds on our commitment to equitable health care. No matter where Tasmanians live – in cities, towns, or the most remote corners – they can access primary healthcare for free when they need.

TassieDoc 2U complements our 10 free TassieDoc clinics and TassieDoc 24/7 after-hours telehealth service, creating a seamless, statewide network of healthcare designed to meet community needs around the clock.
After 11 years of the Liberals, Tasmanians deserve a health system that works — only Labor will deliver the healthcare and medicines Tasmanians need, where and when they need them.
It’s time for a fresh start and the best way to see that happen is to vote Labor.
