I'm Casey Farrell, Labor Member for Lyons.
I was born and raised in Tasmania, and have built my career here. I've spent my life creating opportunities in the place I’ve always called home.
As a business owner, startup mentor and community advocate, I’ve worked to make sure Tasmanians don’t have to leave the state to pursue meaningful careers or make a global impact. I founded a creative technology business to provide secure, fulfilling local jobs, started a coworking space to support remote workers and freelancers, and helped launch a startup incubator to empower new entrepreneurs across the state. My mission has always been to show that success doesn’t require leaving Tasmania. You can build something incredible right here.
I entered Parliament in 2025 as the Labor Member for Lyons, following a recount after Rebecca White’s move to the Federal seat. I believe government should get the basics right: housing, healthcare, education and transport. No one should be left behind when it comes to accessing the essentials of a good life.
I’ve always been grounded in community and driven by fairness. I want to help make Tasmania a place where people can thrive, where families feel secure, young people see a future, and good ideas are backed in. I believe in practical, forward-thinking leadership that listens first and acts with integrity.
I live in the Derwent Valley with my three kids, and I’m proud to be raising them in the state I love. I’m committed to building a future where they, and every Tasmanian, have the opportunity to live well, do great things, and be part of a society that genuinely cares.
